Hủ Tiếu Miền Tay Restaurant is a Vietnamese restaurant tucked away inside an Asian supermarket at 700 Black Horse Pike in Pleasantville, NJ. If you’re heading to or from Atlantic City and craving authentic Vietnamese flavors, this spot is worth planning a quick detour for. The unassuming location means the atmosphere is more about practicality than ambiance, but inside, the restaurant is surprisingly clean and orderly, reflecting the care they put into their food and service.

The focus here is on Vietnamese noodle soups with a strong nod to southern styles, featuring broth that might look simple at first glance but carries deep, layered flavors. The Special Pho DAC Biet stands out as a hearty bowl packed with various cuts of beef—a detail that keeps locals coming back, especially those familiar with Vietnamese soups. Bean sprouts are generously provided to customize each spoonful, adding fresh crunch alongside the tender noodles.

Beyond pho, the menu covers a range of traditional dishes like Soc Trang-style rice vermicelli soup, grilled pork with egg quiche, and classic summer and fried spring rolls, which are often praised for their freshness and balance of textures. The inclusion of inventive drinks like bubble tea and the Sinh to Bo (avocado milkshake with pearls) provides a refreshing complement, making it a nice place for a casual meal that’s both filling and varied.

Service tends toward friendly and straightforward, reflecting a workflow suited to a steady flow of customers rather than leisurely dining. It’s the kind of place where people pop in for a satisfying, no-frills meal—locals appreciate that combination of authenticity and price point, which is notably lower than many options in bigger cities like New York. Timing-wise, visiting outside the busy Atlantic City weekend rushes might make for a quieter experience.

Visitors should expect a functional setting rather than mood lighting—this is comfort food in a practical environment. The restaurant works well as a spot to recharge with a genuine bowl of pho or enjoy classic grilled pork dishes if you want to escape the casino crowds for a bit. If you’re comfortable dining in a bustling market space and appreciate Vietnamese culinary tradition, Hủ Tiếu Miền Tay offers a straightforward, reliable experience that reflects the food culture of southern Vietnam transplanted here in New Jersey.

Our go to spot whenever we hit up Atlantic City. It’s located inside the Asian supermarket in the back. The pho dac biet (#23 here) is on the larger side with loads of different cuts of beef compared to others. They also give you an extravagant amount of bean sprouts to complement. The soup base looks plain, but it’s full of flavor- trust. The fried spring rolls and the pork summer rolls were also surprisingly good. My friends always get the Bun Bo Hue here because they swear by it. You’re def getting better pho for less money just 15 minutes outside of Atlantic City.

Very interesting and authentic Vietnamese restaurant in the rear of large Asian market. Service was friendly and the restaurant itself was immaculate. We started with some Vietnamese spring rolls were fresh and packed with fresh vegetables, tasty but a little bit too chewy. We them went on to have their signature Pho which was flavor and packed with meats, the noodles were perfectly cooked and they also supplied you with a huge amount of fresh vegetable supplements and spices to add to the soup. The only reason I did not give this establishment five stars was because of the rest room facilities, to use the bathrooms you must exit the restaurant and use the adjacent markets facility which was a filthy, scary mess. I know that this is not the restaurants fault but it is a blemish that takes away from a great experience and should be rectified.

Great spot to hit up before / after AC. Located inside an Asian supermarket, don’t let the looks fool you.. they have very super authentic viet food. The BBH hits the spot every time.

Amazing vietnamese restaurant. I think this is the best in Eastside. I have visited best one in Virginia, Georgia, New Jersey, New York, and Boston. I can be sure that this is the best of the best among all the vietnamese that I have visited. This restaurant is located at poor location which is inside of dirty chinese supermarket but the restaurant itself it very clean. All the utesils are cleaned properly. Food is prepared super clean and delicious. Price is also very reasonable. Price is before COVID price still. Try their special pho(oxtail, or beef rib) I guarantee that you will love this price

This is my go-to Vietnamese spot whenever I venture to Atlantic City. One, it’s authentic Vietnamese. Two, very lovely service and staff. Three, food hits the spot. The price is reasonable. Still cheaper than many Vietnamese restaurants in New York. If you’re driving outside AC, it’s about a 15 minute drive. There is another Vietnamese restaurant in that area, but I go for the hole-in-the-walls. That’s where the good stuff is. Should definitely go and try.

1st I want to mention, this place is located inside the Market. Walk in , straight back. We have been to a few restaurants like this but this is our favorite. Food is always good & fresh. Place is clean. Good atmosphere. There is a young lady there to help you with the menu also if needed. Always friendly. Recommend the fresh coconut water! And the ice coffee

Authentic Vietnamese food! Fresh “Banh Cuon” made right. However, they give too much noodles. Should reduce amount of noodles. Smoothie was too sweet. Less sugar. Come here for authentic Vietnamese food. Good quality food with reasonable price.
